Australian dairy company Pure Dairy has officially opened its state-of-the-art dairy manufacturing plant in Dandenong South, Victoria.
New Delhi, October 30, 2025: In a news release, the company said the 13,000-square-metre facility represents a key development in Pure Dairy’s 14-year history and was officially opened before an audience of more than 200 guests, including representatives from state and local government.
Pure Dairy founder and chairman Adrian Josephson told attendees that the plant was the culmination of nearly a decade of planning.
“This new facility has been a vision of mine for nearly a decade. In my younger years, I’d be travelling the world, selling Australian cheeses to the largest cheese converters in Europe and the US. Even then, I knew one day I needed to build something like this here in Australia,” Josephson said, according to Pure Dairy.
The company credited its growth to the support of partners such as Great Lakes Cheese and acknowledged the contributions of external builders Pellicano, internal builders Paul Brady Group, and its internal team.
Pure Dairy highlighted the plant’s significance for local manufacturing, citing remarks from the Hon. Colin Brooks, Minister for Industry and Advanced Manufacturing.
“This investment here today represents the largest private investment in dairy for the past 40 years, so it’s a significant moment,” Brooks said at the opening.
“The southeast of Melbourne is a broad manufacturing powerhouse. It’s the biggest manufacturing hub in the country, bigger than all of South Australia put together, bigger than all of western Sydney. This project will generate some $89 million of economic activity for this region. It’s just extraordinary.”
Guests at the opening toured the facility, witnessing Pure Dairy’s production of various dairy products for major buyers including Subway, Coles, Guzman Y Gomez, and Betty Burgers.
Pure Dairy noted that the plant is now fully operational and integrates modern cheese manufacturing and processing technologies according to the reports published in en.edairynews.com.
The company also highlighted comments from Deputy Mayor of the City of Greater Dandenong, Cr Sophie Tan, who said, “It’s clear that this isn’t just bricks and mortar. It’s a statement. A statement of where Pure Dairy is heading – strengthening supply chains, expanding capacity, and investing in the future of Australian manufacturing,” as reported by Pure Dairy.

In addition to its manufacturing operations, Pure Dairy said the Dandenong South facility houses the company’s trade, foodservice, and retail headquarters, bringing together specialists across all aspects of the industry.
