New Delhi, July 16, 2026: Long before artisanal scoops and premium gelato became commonplace, sorbetes was already a fixture on Filipino streets. Sold from brightly colored pushcarts outside schools, parks, and neighborhoods, the local ice cream became a childhood staple, with flavors like ube, avocado, and cheese earning a permanent place in the country’s dessert culture.
Now, Dairy Queen is giving those familiar flavors a Blizzard twist.
The international ice cream chain has introduced Sorbetes Fiesta, a limited-time collection that reimagines classic Filipino sorbetes flavors as Blizzards while extending the concept to cakes, parfaits, and waffle cones. The lineup debuted on Tuesday, July 14, at Dairy Queen Gateway 2 in Araneta City.
“We’re very proud of it because usually we come up with American flavors, but this time around, we asked ourselves, ‘What is very iconic in the Philippines?'” said PPI Holdings, Inc. chief operating officer Chacha Juinio during the launch. “I hope everyone gets to try and appreciate how we reimagined iconic sorbetes flavors which are ube, avocado, and cheese.”
Each Blizzard starts with Dairy Queen’s signature vanilla soft serve before layering in flavors inspired by traditional Filipino sorbetes according to the reports published in abs-cbn.com.
The Ube-st Graham Blizzard combines vanilla soft serve with ube halaya and graham pieces before being topped with more ube and graham crumbs, drawing inspiration from the familiar Filipino dessert pairing.
The Klasik Quezo Blizzard blends vanilla soft serve with cheese sauce and shredded cheese before being finished with another layer of grated cheese for a sweet-and-savory combination reminiscent of cheese-flavored sorbetes.
Completing the trio is the Avocashew Blizzard, which combines vanilla soft serve with avocado purée and crunchy cashews for a richer take on the avocado sorbetes familiar to many Filipinos.
The three flavors also appear across Dairy Queen’s dessert lineup through the Ube-st Quezo Blizzard Cake, Avoca-Oreo Tin Cake, Ube-st Quezo Parfait, and Klasik Quezo Waffle Cone.
Sorbetes Fiesta Blizzards start at P119, while the waffle cone version starts at P99. The collection is available for dine-in and takeout at Dairy Queen’s stores nationwide, as well as through GrabFood, foodpanda, and Pick-A-Roo.
