New Delhi, October 18, 2024: The Suara servitors group (Suara Nijoga) wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, requesting his aid in building up a “Goshala” (cow sanctuary) and dairy farm for the Jagannath Temple’s daily operations. This came amid requests that Mahaprasad be prepared in Puri using only pure ghee accroding to the reports publsihed in interviewtimes.net. According to Suar Nijoga’s letter, pure native cow ghee rather than OMFED ghee is a superior option for making Mahaprasad. On Lord Jagannath’s property, the government may establish a cow farm to provide pure native cow ghee, milk, butter, and curd. The servants proposed utilizing Lord Jagannath’s money to run the dairy farm or cowshed.
The letter read, “We firmly believe that under your guidance, a Gaushala dedicated to Lord Jagannath’s service could flourish, symbolizing your commitment to spiritual and agricultural well-being. This initiative would support the temple’s rituals and contribute to ‘Gau-seva’ and sustainable cow development.” The servitors urged the Prime Minister to intervene, ensuring the use of pure Desi cow ghee at the Jagannath Temple. Establishing a Gaushala is prioritized to benefit both the temple and sacred cows.
