New Delhi, March 04, 2024: During a press conference last Friday, Minesh Shah said, “Currently, we produce 235 million tons of milk annually, approximately 24% of the global production. By 2030, we plan to increase this share to 30%.”

One of Minesh Shah’s key focuses is improving the productivity of dairy cattle. “We are working on the genomic assessment of animals, developing their genetic potential. Genetics, feeding, and animal health are the three key areas to maximize the potential of our dairy production,” said the expert.

Several other key areas of work include free vaccination programs for livestock against brucellosis and foot-and-mouth disease, supported by the government, as well as the development of a network of milk cooling systems at collection points across the country according to the reports published in dairynews.today.

The launch of modern processing plants is also a crucial direction, noted Minesh Shah. In the coming months, several new facilities of this kind will be inaugurated.
