New Delhi, August 14, 2021: Thiruvananthapuram Regional Co-operative Milk Producers Union (TRCMPU) of Milma has declared Onam incentives for dairy farmers affiliated to its network at the rate of Re 1 for each litre of milk procured from them in the month of June 2021, for which an amount of Rs 1.30 crore has been set apart.
TRCMPU will also give incentives and special prizes of over Rs one crore to its recognized agents during the Onam season, a release said here on Wednesday.
“This is for the first time that the dairy farmers and agents under TRCMPU are getting incentives at such attractive rates. This will certainly prove to be a stimulant for dairy farmers who have been hit hard by the crisis triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic”, said N Bhasurangan, TRCMPU Administrative Committee Convener, according to reports published in indiadairy.com
This gesture will also help boost the sale of Milma’s products during the festival season, he said.
The incentives and special prizes based on the sales will be disbursed to the agents this month itself.
Milma’s special Onam Kit are also being made available at discounted rate through milk cooperative societies. Price of the kit has been fixed in such a way that the co-operatives and its employees will benefit from the margin earned through the sales.
The 525 ml sachet of homogenized toned milk marketed recently by Milma in Thiruvananthapuram district has received tremendous response from customers, clocking a sale of around 45,000 litres a day. Soon, TRCMPU will be marketing it from other dairies in the region as well, he said.
