MoU signed to empower women dairy farmers

Gorakhpur, January 30, 2025: In a move to empower women dairy farmers, the Shri Baba Gorakhnath Kripa Milk Producer Organization has signed an MoU with Indian Bank to facilitate cattle loans. This initiative is aligned with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision to strengthen the rural economy by enhancing milk production in the Gorakhpur division.

Under the agreement, Indian Bank will provide loans for purchasing 300 cattle, benefiting women shareholders of the organization. The first loan of Rs 2 lakh has already been sanctioned digitally to a beneficiary, Kalindi Devi. .

Established on CM Yogi’s directive, the organization supports women dairy farmers across Gorakhpur, Maharajganj, Deoria, and Kushinagar. With more milch cattle, these women can increase their earnings, driving economic growth according to the reports published in timesofindia.indiatimes.com.

CEO Dhanraj Sahani said 15,000 women have already joined as shareholders, with plans to expand to 20,000 by March 2025 under the State Rural Livelihood Mission. The organization aims to collect three lakh liters of milk in the next two years, ensuring financial independence for women farmers.
