New Delhi, February 29, 2024: This decision, effective from March 1 to 31, aims to benefit farmers associated with over 1,000 milk societies across Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kottayam, and Idukki districts in Kerala.
According to the reports published in dairynews.today In February, the regional milk union had already provided an extra ₹7 for each litre of procured milk, with ₹5 directed to the farmers and ₹2 to the primary dairy society. For March, an additional ₹6 will be allocated to farmers, while ₹4 will go to dairy societies. The regional society anticipates an expenditure of ₹16 crore due to this supplementary payment. With a daily milk procurement of three lakh litres, this initiative aims to enhance the financial well-being of dairy farmers in the region.
