Ludhiana: Dairy owner’s employee escapes with ₹2 lakh; booked

    New Delhi, February 07, 2023: A dairy employee has been booked for allegedly decamping with 2 lakh that he collected on behalf of his employer.

    The Division number 5 police lodged an FIR against the accused identified as Monu of Banda in Uttar Pradesh. The accused has been working in the dairy for the past one decade according to the reports published in hindustantimes.com.

    The incident happened on Saturday when the dairy owner sent him to collect payment from a hotel at Ludhiana-Ferozepur road. He collected the payment but did not come back to work.

    Complainant Arvinder Singh of Sarabha Nagar said that he runs a dairy at Pakhowal road and had sent Monu to collect payment from Hotel Palm Court at Ludhiana-Ferozepur road near the old octroi post against the supply of milk and milk products.

    When Monu did not return till evening, he started a search for him. He found that Monu had collected 2.01 lakh from the hotel and left. His phone was also switched off.

    ASI Mohan Lal, who is investigating the case, said that soon after receiving the complaint, the Division number 5 police lodged an FIR against the accused under section 406 (criminal breach of trust) of the IPC.
