New Delhi, June 25, 2020: Ice cream aficionados in Metro Vancouver know to track down the best spots for small-batch treats. With a flagship location on Murray Street in Port Moody and a new location on Sixth Avenue in New Westminster, Rocky Point Ice Cream is one of those places.

In 1997, co-owners Jamie and Yvette Cuthbert launched the business as a summer ice cream shop operating out of a tiny kiosk. They went on to build a test kitchen where they could create their own recipes and start running ice cream, while their customers and friends tested each new batch to provide feedback.

Today, the Cuthberts continue to handcraft ice cream with love at both stores, and they distribute it via their three roving ice cream trucks: Scooper, Rocky, and Hitch. More than 90% of the ingredients used in the whimsical flavours available at Rocky Point Ice Cream are sourced locally.

To celebrate local and help you support nearby businesses during the ongoing crisis, we’re giving away 15 ice cream prize packs worth almost $100 each.

In the process of expanding their business, the Cuthberts both attended the University of Guelph to learn how to make ice cream entirely from scratch.

This led them to devise stand-out flavours like Birthday Cake, Blackberry Sage, Lemon Yogurt Cookie, Tin Roof, Espresso Flake, and their famous dog-friendly K9 ice cream.

The Cuthberts emphasize providing superior products to customers at Rocky Point Ice Cream. “We have always and are still committed to supporting our community and we do so in many ways,” the company’s website states.

Rocky Point Ice Cream currently employs over 100 local students and contributes to fundraising for local schools and community groups according to the reports published in dailyhive.com.

The Cuthberts are currently in the process of building a brand new dairy plant ice cream production facility, The Creamery by Rocky Point. Members of the community will be invited to look inside the ice cream wonderland and see the couple processing dairy, ice cream, and candies at The Creamery.

Both Rocky Point Ice Cream stores are now open, so it’s easy to safely stop by your nearest location to try the latest flavours while respecting social distancing.

Before then, you can enter the contest below to win a nine-inch layered ice cream cake in one of four flavours (Sweet Georgia Brown, Cookie Jar, Neapolitan, or Chocolate Peanut Butter) and a $50 gift certificate for Rocky Point Ice Cream that can be used at any time.

For every contest entry during the campaign, BC Dairy Association (BCDA) will donate $1 to Food Banks BC up to $20,000 inclusive of the entire BC Giveaway Series campaign.
