New Delhi, April 14, 2023: Indian Ice-cream Manufacturers Association (IICMA) clarifies that Ice-Cream & Frozen Desserts have Product Standards under FSSAI regulations which must be met. Ice-cream uses milk and other products derived from milk. In ice cream the source of fat is milk fat. Frozen Desserts contain Milk and may contain Milk Fat and Milk Solids. The fat in Frozen dessert comes mainly from Vegetable Oil. Vegetable Oil is a safe ingredient & is used in multiple food products.
IICMA urges all consumers not to pay heed to social media posts deliberately aimed at garnering attention by disparaging Frozen Desserts with malicious intent. Such posts appear at the onset of summers to mislead consumers. IICMA assures that both products are manufactured in accordance with FSSAI standards and regulatory requirements & are completely safe to consume.
