For a second consecutive year, the three factories of EPIRUS SA in Arta, Domokos and Elassona, which are involved in the production, packaging and repackaging of cheese and dairy products, were certified by the European Control & Certification Company “EUROCERT” with the Zero Waste to Landfill Standard (ZWTL-EU1).
All three factories received the highest “Platinum” rating for 2022, as less than 1% of the waste they produce ends up in landfills, while over 99% is recycled, reused, and directed towards the production of biogas or compost.
It is worth noting that EPIROS was the first Greek dairy company that has been certified for 2021 with the “Zero Waste to Landfill Platinum” sustainability standard. As company’s representatives mention “We have a long way to go until we reach our final target, which is a circular economy and a zero-carbon environmental footprint. This certification is another important step in this direction.”.
