Chennai, March 08, 2023: State-owned Aavin has denied role in adulteration and allegations that it compelled private dairy farmers to sell milk only to them.
Based on complaints, food safety officials and police inspect milk sold in Tuticorin directly by farmers and private dealers.
The team, headed by district collector Senthil Raj, conducted tests at the spot to confirm that chemicals were mixed in 1,500 litre of milk, which were taken out for delivery to the public according to the reports published in timesofindia.indiatimes.com.
Following this, SA Ponnusamy from Tamil Nadu Milk Dealers’ Welfare Association alleged that Aavin authorities were behind this incident and they were forcing private farmers not to sell milk directly to the public.
Aavin has rejected it and said that action was intended
at unregistered dealers using chemicals to adulterate milk.
