New Delhi, December 30, 2017:Tetra Pak has launched Tetra Fino Aseptic 100 Ultra MiM packaging, which converts liquid dairy and juice drinks into ice cream and frozen dessert products.
The package is available from 2018 in the Greater Middle East, Europe and Asia and is currently being trailed by Want Want food company in China according to dairyreporter.com.
Small carton pouches
The way the package works is dairy and juice drinks can be produced and distributed in small carton pouches at room temperature and turned into frozen products in shops or in a consumer’s home.
According to the reports published in dairyreporter.com “We announced these new products to our distributors in early September,” said Wang Jin Ping, general manager, Ice Product Business Unit, Want Want Group.
“The response has been extremely positive because these products meet the needs of both parents and children.
“Parents can be reassured of the nutritional values of the product because it is their trusted Want Want flavored milk without any preservatives, while children will be happy to enjoy these frozen treats because they are fun and tasty.”
According to Euromonitor’s ‘Ice Cream and Frozen Desserts Western Europe,’ 2017 report, Western Europe is the biggest ice cream and frozen desserts market in the world, with sales of more than $20bn.
Take-home ice cream
It claims Turkey, Spain and France are the markets to watch, and frozen yogurt and take-home dairy ice cream are the categories to watch.
‘Frozen yogurt is emerging as a healthy and tasty alternative, not only to ice cream, but also to traditional snacks such as confectionery and yogurt,’ it said.
The Tetra Fino Aseptic 100 Ultra MiM package can be produced on the A1 Tetra Pak filling machine platform.
With a pre-applied opening using Micro Injection Moulding technology, the package can be opened by pulling the tab, making it easy for children and others to enjoy the frozen product.
