Hyderabad, February 24, 2022: Telangana Vijaya Dairy has increased the prices of milk being procured from dairy farmers by Rs 4.68 per litre for buffallo milk and Rs 2.88 per litre for cow milk. As per directions of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, the revised prices will come into force with retrospective effect from February 16. Accordingly, the buffallo milk will be collected at Rs 41.64 per litre and the cow milk at Rs 32.64 per litre from dairy farmers according to the reports published in telanganatoday.com.
In a statement, Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav stated that the State government took numerous measures to improve the income of dairy farmers and also promoting Telangana Vijaya Dairy on all fronts by launching new products. He said the company which was in losses before the State formation, has now achieved a turnover of Rs 700 crore due to the efforts of the Chief Minister.
Earlier, the company management started providing an incentive of Rs 4 per litre to milk in November 2014 and also providing cash incentives to dairy farmers supplying milk to other cooperative dairies like the Nalgonda-Ranga Reddy Cooperative Milk Producers union Limited (NARMUL) Dairy, the Karimnagar Dairy and Mulkanoor Mahila Dairy. About Rs 343 crore have been spent towards providing incentive to dairy farmers.
Apart from milk and milk products, the Telangana Vijaya Dairy is establishing a mega dairy with Rs 246 crore in about 40 acres at Raviryal village in Rangareddy district to introduce new products in the market.
