U.S, November 1, 2018: Target, the second largest retailer in the U.S., has just announced the launch of a new range of non-dairy ice cream under its Archer Farms private label according to reports published in livekindly.co
The new line of frozen desserts is free from animal products and available in seven flavors including Cashew Caramel, Caramel Brownie, Vanilla Cake & Cookie Dough, Mocha Almond Fudge, Strawberry & Fudge, Peanut Butter & Chocolate, and Vanilla Bean.
Just recently it was reported that sales of plant-based ice cream are expected to surpass $1 billion by 2024, with American and European brands making nondairy ice cream more appealing to mainstream consumers.
Experts predict that as more renowned brands develop dairy-free ice cream, competitive advantage will further “propel the industry demand,” leading to new offerings and the use of innovative ingredients made possible by technological advancements. Unique ingredient trends expected to play a role in driving the market include fruit, which is used by banana-based vegan ice cream brand Snow
Both Target and Whole Foods Market introduced a vegan avocado ice cream brand named ‘Cado’ earlier this year – the dessert range is loaded with healthy fats to create a creamy, dairy-like texture and has the extra benefit of being allergen-friendly, unlike many nut-based vegan ice creams. Cado offers flavors in Chocolate, Mint Chocolate Chip, and Lemon Sorbet.
Archer Farms new nondairy range is made with an almond milk base and features a variety of plant-based add-ins such as cake pieces, cookie dough chunks, peanut butter truffles, and fudge swirls.
According to new research by Global Market Insights, almond milk is predicted to experience higher CAGR in line with changing taste preferences. And consumers may be willing to spend more on premium vegan ice cream flavors featuring ingredients like almond milk.
Target’s new range of ice cream flavors are now available nationwide.
