New Delhi, October 09, 2018: LISLE (WBNG) — Local dairy farmer Scott Glezen says milking cows is his family’s gift, but in recent years, that gift has faced extended financial trouble.
Glezen runs a 1,200 cow dairy farm, producing thousands of gallons of milk per day, but he says he’s never seen milk prices so low for so long.
“It just doesn’t seem to matter how much more we work, how efficient that we get, we just can’t seem to overcome the financial stresses that we have in the dairy right now,” said Glezen according to wbng.com.
In an attempt to combat the financial struggle, he’s cutting back on everything from employees to new equipment.
Glezen says he’s not giving up. He hopes to pass the farm down to his children, adding, “Quitting has never been an option for me.”
