Facilitating the Commercialization of Dairy Farming

New Delhi, October 17, 2018: The 8th edition of the India’s Largest International Exhibition on Dairy Products, Processing & Packaging Machinery and Allied Industries DairyTech India 2018 was held at BIEC, Bangalore, during 31st August – 2nd September, 2018. The event had concurrent shows – 10th AgriTech India 2018 and 7th International Poultry & Livestock Expo 2018 to cover holistically the pertaining technologies in the poultry, livestock, dairy and agriculture sector.

8th DairyTech India 2018 has a constant support from prominent Indian organizations such as National Research Centre of Meat, Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Central Poultry Development Organization and Training Institute, Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (Ministry of Agriculture & Farmer’s Welfare), National Centre for Cold-Chain Development, All India Food Processors Association, Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

Inaugurated by Agriculture Minister of Karnataka N. H. Shivashankara Reddy, the event won allround praise.

The show raised the awareness level about the availability of technological solutions and knowledge to take Indian dairy industry forward.

DairyTech India 2018 showcased modern dairy machineries & equipments, techniques and application of business principles towards a sustainable growth.

‘Significant Initiative’

Agriculture Minister Reddy, in his address, appreciated the efforts and expressed great pleasure in inaugurating the event. He highlighted the emergence of dairy activities as one of the major rural economy contributors of India.

He said, “The demand for milk is tremendous. Dairy farming has progressed in the direction of becoming an organized industry. Dairy farming in India is now evolving from just an agrarian way of life to a professionally managed industry. Transformation of this sector is being induced by newfound interest on the part of the organized sector, new markets, easy credit facilities, dairy friendly policies by the government, etc.”

He added, “The government and other stakeholders are increasingly coming forward to help the growth of the sector. Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Ministry of Food Processing Industries have initiated several steps to encourage organized growth of dairy farming and production of dairy products.”

In his address of welcome, MB Naqvi, CEO, Media Today Group said, “There is enormous scope for the industry in the field of value-added products. It is expected that the demand for processed and packaged dairy produce will witness a phenomenal growth due to growing population with greater health consciousness. Realizing the growing importance of commercialization, the livestock sector needs to meet the challenges of globalization, in terms of organized production and marketing.”

The minister, along with MB Naqvi, went round the exhibition and said he was immensely impressed by the technologically best displays of the pavilions showcasing ways to overcome the challenges such as shortage of fodder, poor quality of feed, dismal transportation facilities and a poorly developed cold chain infrastructure.

The prominent event hosted stalls featuring tools and technologies with regards to the emerging trend of commercializing dairy farms while expecting potential investment sectors.

Foreign Participation

The contingent of international delegations was large. A delegation of 35 members from China, 30 members from Brazil, 25 from Turkey and 15 from Indonesia were present. France, Germany, Iran, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Nepal, Poland, Spain, Taiwan, UK, Ukraine, USA, Vietnam and Bangladesh were among the important participant countries.

The event underlined the upcoming prospects of co-operation with each participant country to assist the progress of hi-tech commercial dairy farms leading to clean milk production. Concurrent events were organized to help promote improved  trade relations for all stakeholders of the Industry.

International Poultry & Livestock Expo: The three day 7th International Poultry & Livestock Expo achieved huge recognition amid the leading international players of the sector and endowed with prospects in the industry. It proved as an ideal platform for interfaces among Poultry equipment Manufacturers and Traders, Livestock Feed Manufactures, Veterinary Products and Services, Dairy Technology Manufactures and Exporters, Animal Biotechnology and Bio Security, Animal Nutrition and Health Products, Poultry Turnkey Projects Suppliers etc. Major participants in the International Poultry and Livestock Expo were Vedan (Vietnam) Enterprise Corp., Ltd., Viale Sistemi, Devee Biologicals Pvt. Participation

The participation of national and international companies collectively has been of assistance in supporting the potential sectors of the industry. DairyTech India 2018 introduced efficient feeding methods, encouraged commercialization and mechanization of dairy farms. It developed networks to promote processed food & beverages based on milk and cold chain facilities while minimizing wastage and organizing the sector. This multi-show attracted over 31,000 visitors and nearly 500 exhibitors from all parts of India and other 30+ participating countries.

The show offered valuable B2B business meetings, global exposure and a lot more.

The show promoted technological up-gradation and helped in familiarizing with the benefits of using latest technologies. The exhibition was a great opportunity to heighten the industry’s future scenario. It helped in exploring possibilities of joint- ventures with foreign companies and in connecting visitors with so many global leaders & technologies under a single roof.

The 8th DairyTech India 2018 focused on dairy machineries & equipments, dairy products, feed manufacturing machineries, feed storage & transport  equipments and many more direct and indirect products & service suppliers in the Food & Beverage industry. All stakeholders were proficient enough to raise and commercialize their business performances.

Overall, the exhibition was a great success, providing encouragement to the organizers to move on to the next edition with more zest. 8th DairyTech India 2018 was the best place to become part of the emerging Indian Dairy Industry and promote its further commercialization. The organizers announced the dates for the next series, i.e. 30th August to 1st September, 2019, Bangalore.
