New Delhi, January 12, 2019: Chobani, the Chenango County-based company that has become the country’s top Greek yogurt maker, has a new line of non-dairy products.
Non-dairy Chobani is made with cultured, organic coconut puree. The result is not as dense as Greek-style yogurt, but has a good body based on coconut cream that is naturally condensed, according to Niel Sandford, a vice president of product management and innovation.
The new line includes five single-serve yogurt cup flavors (vanilla, strawberry, blueberry, slightly sweet plain and peach) and four single-serve drinks (vanilla chai, strawberry, mango and slightly sweet plain). The products contain all plant-based ingredients. They have no gluten, soy or artificial sweeteners or flavors according to newyorkupstate.com.
The suggested prices for the yogurts are $1.99 per 5.3-ounce cup and $2.49 per 7-ounce drink. The products are headed for grocery shelves this month.
Chobani is the nation’s top seller of Greek yogurt and the overall No. 2 manufacturer of yogurt.
The non-dairy products are being made Chobani’s Idaho factory. It also has factories in South Edmenston, N.Y., and Australia.
