Baroda Dairy associated with AMUL to increase milk procurement prices by Rs 70 per kg fat

    Baroda District Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union Limited, popularly known as Baroda Dairy, has decided to increase the milk procurement price by Rs 70 per kg fat from May 11, Managing Director of the dairy Jehangir R Daruwala today said.
    The Dairy however, said that the increase in the procurement prices won’t be passed on to cotumers and the selling prices won’t be increased.

    ”We have decided to increase the procurement prices to Rs 640 per kg fat from existing Rs 570 with effect from May 11,” the MD said.

    The Dairy which is associated with Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which markets products under ‘Amul’ brand, procures 6.60 lakh liter milk per day from around 1.19 lakh producers of 1237 groups (mandalis).

    ”The last increase in procurement price by us was more than a year ago. By increasing the price we are going to award the good quality milk producers and at the same time give a stern message to those whose milk quality is poor,” the MD said.
